Ometepe Island

Ometepe Island was formed by two large volcanos in the expansive Lake Nicaragua (Maderas and Concepción). The island is now brimming with lush jungles and abundant wildlife.

Maderas beach is a popular surf spot in San Juan del Sur with consistent waves, two big beach bars.

This stunning waterfall can be found at the top of a 2.5 hour hike on Ometepe Island.

Playa Marsella

The sunsets in Nicaragua are unreal. The colors are so vibrant with saturated hues of orange, yellow, and red; every night seems to top the last.

Volcán Masaya

Volcán Masaya is an active volcano and the lava is visible from the observation area above. The bright colors of the molten lava are best viewed after sunset.

Leon

Remnants of Nicaragua’s revolution are still visible throughout the city and live on through street art and murals.

Granada is a quaint, colonial city on the coast of Lake Nicaragua. It has stood strong against pirates and Americans while somehow retaining it’s beauty.

Ojo de Agua

Ojo de Agua is a natural spring swimming hole with water so clear you can see all the way to the bottom. Since the water comes straight from Volcan Maderas, it is believed to have medicinal properties.

San Juan del Sur

San Juan del Sur is a small fishing village and surf town on Nicaragua’s west coast. This view can be reached by climbing the hill to the large Jesus statue called, Cristo de La Misericordia.

Lake Nicaragua

Lake Nicaragua is the largest lake in Central America and the home of Ometepe Island with it’s twin volcanos. This massive lake is also home to both crocodiles and sharks.
